Wasted Appointments

St John's Medical Centre strive to provide high levels of care to our Patient Population. 

We are aware that there is currently a significant wait for appointments and we are working on reducing this in a number of ways. However, one issue we face when trying to provide enough appointments is that a large number of our appointments are booked each month but are not attended or cancelled.   This means that these appointments are wasted and it is often too late to offer these appointments to anyone else.

In July 2021- 158 patients did not attend for their appointment meaning that 26 hours of clinical time was lost.  This is time that could have been offered to other patients who needed an appointment.

We are asking our patients to work with us to help reduce these figures.  You can do this by cancelling your appointment if you cannot attend.  This can be done in a number of ways:
